Bed Bug Monitor for Early Infestation Detection

BugRug from Russell IPM is a bed bug monitoring device designed to detect even the smallest infestations, both before and after professional treatments. Its hard-wearing triangular exterior sits discreetly beneath mattresses and fits with ease into the corners of bed frames, where bed bugs commonly harbour. Pre-baited with a specially formulated attractant and built around a purpose-designed harbourage, BugRug gives pest control professionals a non-toxic, insecticide-free way to confirm bed bug activity and verify treatment results.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Hard-wearing triangular exterior: Designed for discreet placement beneath mattresses, particularly in the corners of the bed, where the monitor sits close to typical bed bug harbourage points.

  • Specially formulated attractant: Encourages bed bugs to enter and investigate the monitor, supporting the detection of low-level infestations.

  • Roughened access ramps: Allow bed bugs to enter the monitor easily.

  • Purpose-designed harbourage environment: Corrugated cardboard provides an attractive, comfortable environment that encourages bed bugs to settle within the monitor. Once a bed bug discovers a suitable harbourage, its presence and aggregation behaviour can encourage other bed bugs to follow.

  • Clear plastic construction: Provides excellent visibility, allowing activity to be inspected without opening the monitor and helping technicians check devices quickly during site visits.

  • Non-toxic and insecticide-free: Provides a passive monitoring solution with no insecticide, suitable for use in bedrooms and other occupied sleeping areas.

  • Pre-baited and ready to use: Clean, convenient and requires no preparation, so the monitor can be deployed straight from the packaging.

  • Compact and discreet: Designed to sit unobtrusively beneath the mattress, keeping monitoring out of sight of guests, residents and occupants.

Inspect the monitor through the clear plastic during routine visits to check for bed bug activity, without the need to open it.

Replace the monitor every 3 months, or sooner if it becomes full.

Why Pest Controllers Choose This Product

  • Detecting bed bugs at low population levels is one of the main challenges in bed bug management, and confirming that a treatment has been successful is equally important. BugRug is designed to identify even the smallest infestations before and after treatments, giving pest controllers evidence to support inspection findings, treatment planning and post-treatment follow-up. Its combination of attraction, harbourage and visibility, together with a pre-baited, insecticide-free design, makes it a practical monitoring tool for integrated pest management (IPM) programmes in sensitive environments.
